Welcome to The Lioness Cubs Home. We are situated in Kikambala, Kenya and is currently the home for 18 orphaned or abandoned children. The home is run by a UK based charity which funds the children's needs through donations, fund-raising and its  volunteer programme.  We are one of the few orphanages that home children with AIDS/HIV.  We believe every child deserves a chance of life.

About Us

The Lioness Cubs Home was founded in 2002 by Irene Haneveld , to accomodate a number of street children in Nairobi. A house was rented and staff were employed and was registered as an NGO (Non-Government Organisation).

In 2004, the home started taking in younger children, who were being brought there by children's officers and the Police.

The home re-located from Nairobi to Thika and then moved again, now to its current location in Kikambala.

Irene Haneveld stepped down in 2010 and Lioness Cubs Home gained UK charity status in 2011, and subsequently is now co-ordinated by Edna Elliott and UK-based trustess; Kerry Taylor, Lexie Hearley Macdonald and Ann Mclean
